Sunny by Lukx: Review
The Lukx project was created by the father and son duo of singer/songwriter Lucas Malmport (Lukx) and his father Nils Malmport. “Sunny ” is the brainchild of this father and son pair and it is quite a remarkable track indeed. Nils Malmport did the recording, mixing, and mastering of the track. Finally, it was written with the help of three of Lukx’s pals, namely Polen, Medok, and Jerem.
In the vein of a hip-hop-influenced, classic neo-soul masterpiece. When it comes to upbeat songs, “Sunny” is in the driver’s seat, so get in if you’re ready for the ride of your life. Lukx arrives at a groovy pace, with a fresh track. It’s blended with a rap flow that sounds so darn refined and has that French vibe; it’s a total pleasure to the ears and to anybody who enjoys listening to lit hip-hop verses. Even though some of it is sung in English, the voices are so raw and passionate that you can hear each individual breath. The guitar framework is minimal but has all the essence of a cinematic atmosphere.
As the song develops, a rising keyboard arpeggio adds a pleasant resonance with a neo-soul and hip-hop flavor. The track, as a whole, is a very memorable tune that will help you unwind in a pleasant way. To this day, musicians like Lukx are what keep the music biz moving forward. The vocals are extremely pure, and the English aspects are consistent. Minimal in scope, the bass line gives the song a pleasant bounce.
