Talk Of Things by Frank Joshua: Album Review

Talk Of Things, the second full-length album by the London-based musician Frank Joshua is a blend of diverse genres and musical style. The album features 11 songs written and performed by Frank Joshua, produced by Tony White and remixed by Jon Kennedy, Azido 88, and Tim Angrave.
The album starts with the song ‘Five Minutes’ with Franks crooning over a fast-paced steady beat. From the get-go, he sets the tone of the diversity of sound that is to follow. On the next song ‘Rain’, the album takes a turn to a more alt-rock-driven route with RnB-infused vocals. ‘Free’ is a liberating mix of indietronica and soul. The album takes a melancholic turn in the hauntingly beautiful ambient-driven song ‘Loneliest Place in the World’. With ‘Sense Life’ the album proceeds to a more acoustic-driven soul with this soulfully beautiful song. Frank brings back the fast-paced beats and electronic melodies over a piano in the song Cry Blue. ‘The Greed and the Hunger’ introduced EDM beats that continue to the next song ‘What Price A Smile’. ‘The Panic in the Kitchen’ is a mellow song with soothing vocals over ethereal airy synths and bright piano. ‘If I’ and ‘Torture’ brings back the hypnotic beats and give a seamless conclusion to the album for the listener to repeat the album.
Overall, the album is a highlight of Frank Joshua’s talent and diversity as a songwriter as he keeps the listener wondering what to expect next. To have this wide spectrum of sound and keep it all polished while they all overlap is definitely a feat worthy of praise.
