Dinamika Ensemble, led by Nathalie Bonin, and Simone Benyacar released a dark, cinematic, and powerfully resonant instrumental album, Taste Of Light. Released under the Bashful Tiger label, this album signifies how collaboration between two virtuosos unleashes creativity.
The title track enters with its slow, deep beginning that gradually swells with subtle yet powerful emotion. As the song progresses, it reaches a crescendo of exultation, leaving us captivated by its beauty and complexity.
One standout track, “Criminal Tango,” takes listeners on an eerie, intriguing, whirlwind ride. The music frolics unpredictably like a poltergeist, mirroring the passionate dance itself. The violin weaves through the rhythm with catchy precision, building intensity with each fierce slash of its string. It’s a marvelous display of musical storytelling that leaves listeners breathless and eager for more.
As the album draws to a close, “Fuga” delivers a majestic and exhilarating grand finale. The song builds in waves, enveloping listeners in its smooth, sashaying ribboning sound in the air. The pre-climax leaves the instrumentals hanging in anticipation before bursting forth with grit and ragged beats, evoking imagery of gallant horse hooves galloping past on a thunderous, cloudy day.
Behind the scenes, Simone Benyacar and Nathalie Bonin bring their unparalleled expertise to the project. Simone’s evocative scores, featured in trailers for “Avatar 2” and “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and Nathalie’s exquisite musical sensibility, showcased in “Bridgerton” and “New Amsterdam,” infuse the album with cinematic scope and anticipation. Together, they create a spellbinding album that transcends genres and expectations.
