The Girl from Kerry by Romain Gutsy: Review

Classy indie-jazz musician Romain Gutsy is a Frenchman with a suave voice and diverse musical taste. His track “The Girl from Kerry” is an emotional tale full of romance and a gripping narrative.
“The Girl from Kerry” is quite charming, and the structure of the song has interesting transitions that are bound to excite you. An acoustic rhythm runs the song’s main essence, but more instruments join in to make the jazzy atmosphere a lively one. Romain’s voice has this raspy character to it, that adds an immensely stylish vibe to the track. As the track progresses we get to hear a vibrant tempo come alive pertaining to the genre of gypsy jazz. The sequence is quite natural and blends right in. I gotta admit, the fantastic brass sections give the melody a big band feel, and Romain takes full control of the atmosphere with a musical flair. The storytelling element within the artist’s singing technique is intriguing and quite entertaining too. It is always a delight to hear music that depicts a scene perfectly, and in this case, the instrumentation did a fantastic job of deciphering romance and thrill. However, there is a tragic meaning behind the song.
A narrative tune, “The Girl from Kerry” recounts a tragic tale. It also provides a sort of emotional push to get you through the rough spots in life. Romain’s artistic flow is quite smooth, and the jazz-inspired melody will surely entice you.
