The Lustful Arts by Galactapus: Review

Galactapus is a mysterious-sounding and mystery-themed band. The band members are not identifiable or named because they all wear masks. The usual presentation includes vocals, but in the most gibberish of ways. Galactapus has, thus far, refrained from making any live appearances due to fears for the breach of their personal securities.

Their newest single ‘The Lustful Arts’ is shrouded with the band’s enigmatic energy. The music is hard to put into a genre since it is very experimental- sometimes chaotic, at times aesthetic, and somewhat psychedelic. The song “Lustful Arts” is mainly an instrumental piece with a little hushed vocal delivery; it is definitely dark and artistic in its own way.

The music video is an artistic expression that goes hand in hand with the track. For most of the viewers, it will not make any sense, but then again, when did video art ever make sense to the general viewers? But if you observe their work with a creative mind, ears, and wide-open eyes, you might get their message.

The media has frequently referred to Galactapus using phrases such as “enigmatic,” “wild,” “mysterious,” and “indescribable.” The band is unwavering in its commitment to creating music that stands alone and has a compelling reason for its existence. Even though their music is not for everyone, and for some it will come across as strange music, they have a bold, unique approach to their composition. It was an interesting track to discover and listen to, with a very thought-provoking music video.
