The album, “The Scapegoat’s Agony,” by Coma’s Beach, has trademark gritty electric guitar riffs, a driving bassline, and an ultra gritty and high (because of age, possibly) vocal range. They have presented the desperation of isolation, desolation, rage, and chaos in The Scapegoat’s Agony.
The first track, The Past Of The Future, commences with a chilling and hallowing gust sample as dark guitar riffs play with pauses until you hear a scream, and the music seamlessly transitions into the chorus musical verse.
The band draws upon the existentialist views of mundane occurrences with the greater study of literary authors and philosophers in their album, “The Scapegoat’s Agony.” Other than the literary inspiration behind their lyrics, their sound mainly stems from Sex Pistols, Ramones, Hüsker Dü, Joy Division, The Cure, The Jesus, and Mary Chain to Guns N’ Roses, Therapy? and Bad Religion.
The most popular of the brood, A Madman’s Dream, has playful and hippy guitar riffs that create a parade-like atmosphere that pulls you in and doesn’t let go until the song ends. The gruff vocals add to the otherworldly feeling with lyrics that vividly depict madness and despair as though you, too, are living in a Madman’s Dream.
The last track, being the second shortest track, gives power to the electric guitar till it blazes up with thrumming drums entering the scene. The lyrics are no less poignant or dark: You’re going through/ What you have done/ The sinister might/ Of hell has come. And we have to say, the lyrics are quite assertively delivered for the Album finale. The lines are going to stay with you for a while, like statement pieces.
