The Specific Ocean by David Sirkis: Review
David Sirkis is a drummer and composer and his track “The Specific Ocean” is a jazz masterpiece. Based out of NYC and Tel Aviv, this fantastic artist shares a delicate melody that should resonate with your mind and spirit. It sets the perfect scene for a quiet night out in the city, or just cozying up with your close comrades at a dive bar.
“The Specific Ocean” brings out the soul of jazz through a plethora of musicians. Deepening the impact of the bass is Oren Hardy, while Guy Moskovich initiates a playful tune on the piano. Aside from them, the enriching sound of the saxophone takes effect from Yuval Drabkin, in addition to Yoav Eshed’s guitar. Finally, David’s smooth drum pieces maintain a pleasant tempo, while Hila Rabby’s gorgeous voice is sprinkled here and there in “The Specific Ocean.” I thoroughly enjoyed each segment and transition of this song, and it brought along a sense of calm all around. I believe that’s the primary focus of jazz, right folks? Often, you don’t really need to concentrate on a melody, rather let go and be a part of the genre’s flow. The music itself will take you on a journey through captivating instrumentation.
David’s number was a beautiful experience to undertake. Feelings of joy, contentment, and tranquility all surface while hearing his piece. With that being said, if you’re an avid follower of all things jazz, then please don’t miss out on the wonder of “The Specific Ocean.”
