Tonight by Mister Co.: Review
Connor and Oscar Absolum, two dedicated artists and producers, comprise Mister Co. This stunningly lovely ballad, “Tonight,” was inspired by the couple’s music tastes and their love for one another. The song was composed for the pair to play on their wedding day and was co-produced by Dominik Honold of Protonaut Studios (Germany). It truly is a cute tale, isn’t it? Well, the track is also a very affectionate piece filled with a soulful vocal performance and synth-infused instrumentation.
Tonight by Mister Co. encompasses the genre tropes of Pop and a bit of RnB. There is a delightful and atmospheric arrangement with the synthesizer and a bit of guitar. Upon hearing the track, I got hooked on the main rhythm section which is just a sensational mix of slow beats and neo-soul-style pieces. “Tonight” is a perfect dance number that just keeps going strong with its tempo. There is a short guitar solo at the end that adds a bit of flair to the already remarkable arrangement, and that in itself is a delightful way to end the track.
About the vocal section, the Mister Co. goes all out with “Tonight”. That warm soft spot between ascending rhythm and heartfelt melodies is where the track meets to strike a perfect balance. The lyrical embodiment is immensely captivating, so here’s a short glimpse of it –
”I always dreamt that I’d belong,
Then you came and woke me,
You showed me how to even fall so softly.
Trustin’ that you would catch me”.
