VILGAX!!!!! by Mellowpunk: Review
Mellowpunk- a group with youthful energy landed with a super catchy tune. The indie rock band has just released their new single titled “VILGAX!!!!!”. Yes, precisely five exclamation points for a furious outburst that’s very tonal and witty.
The band is based in Boulder, United States with 5 members of different colors, have created a song that also really has some fantastic instrumentals. “VILGAX!!!!!” is about one person’s venting to another individual to the point of being provoked to scream. Interestingly, the song title is quite similar to the villain in Ben 10 and the song also has a cartoonish vibe, pop punk sound with deep drums, bass, guitar in harmony with synth, warm vocal, there are notes that flutter in the wind as opposed to the super provocative lyrics:
“Why aren’t you having fun?
Save all your friends and go bite your tongue
I think I could kill you
Just to get all my shit back
Was I not supposed to notice
I don’t care how good you think you look in that”
It seems that there’s this comfort in venting out this frustration that almost gives the song a vibe of a can of carbonated soft drink, very refreshing, sweetly modified with a cool soul. Watching the match between a hilarious gang that is taking revenge on the bad guys with their upbeat sound, surely your head will always sway and your legs will join to dance along when listening to this song.
