Will I Ever Be Noticed by Patrick Ames: Review
Musical genius and a master at poetry Patrick Ames shows us his true feelings on a truly personal subject matter in his song “Will I Ever Be Noticed”. The song is from the album “Harmonium”, which was inspired by a book of poetry of the same name.
Firstly, I would just like to express how much influence and sound reflection I felt from U2 in this song. Patrick’s soothing voice kinda reminded me of Bono, and there is some similarity indeed. But let’s talk about Patrick’s song, it is indeed a lovely number, one that you could listen to on loop.
From the very first moment Patrick’s lyrics and voice, as well as Chana Mathew’s backup vocals capture your heart. The song is quite minimalistic in nature, and that just sets the tone for its brilliance.
About the lyrics, it’s just a song about human nature and getting recognized by someone all the while wearing a mask. This mask isn’t the best aspect of self-reflection and self-realization and leads to regret. We’ve all been there whether in our youth or well into our adult years.
There are momentary guitar fills that are just so perfect. This is because it doesn’t try to shred or sound bluesy, but it fits elegantly within the song’s theme and overall sound. And that my friends, is a beautiful way for artists to add color to an empty canvas together. The song’s rhythm is quite catchy as the bassline follows through with everything.
