Without by Sarah Mickey: Review
“Without” is a mesmerizing pop-rock song by Sarah Mickey, and it brings out the best elements of the late 90s and 2000s rock movement. It accompanies an emotional narrative that connects with an energetic rhythm, and this is where that influential sound arises. With such a resonant timbre being represented, it’s almost impossible to ignore the charm of “Without,” so let’s dive into this review without further ado!
Sarah’s voice is a mixture of intimacy and rage. She initiates that first aspect in the intro of “Without” with a softly spoken ode and calming guitars. It’s nearly one minute in that we feel her emotions rise, and the narrative of the piece reaches its zenith. Powerful drums enter the mix, and lively riffs are in full effect. As an audience, and especially if you’re an avid fan of the vintage scent of pop rock, the core of this song will immerse you completely. So sit tight and vibe out to this tune! Furthermore, I enjoyed hearing how Sarah maintained her vocal spirit throughout the track. Particularly when the piece reached its guitar solo, the artist sang in cohesion with the instrument’s tension. It was a beautiful progression to hear! Speaking of solo, it was a surprising inclusion, and the shredding felt incredible to hear.
Pop-rock and sentiment go hand-in-hand. What better way to express your sadness or even your celebration than through song? Thus, in that regard, I’d highly recommend giving “Without” by Sarah Mickey a spin!
