a world we believe in by Sven Ross: Review
The tale of Sven Ross and his empowering track “a world we believe in” deserves monumental praise. The Dutch artist sparks an intriguing ode in this indie-folk melody. In its essence, a graceful singer directs the tune’s flow and rhythm, all the while elegant instrumental portions transitions from classical folk to uplifting rock.
Folk music has initiated massive waves in the industry and its popularity has skyrocketed in the past decade or so. Something about the stories of people within a song and a soothing acoustic guitar tagging along resonated with the masses. Similarly, the cadence of Sven’s track “a world we believe in” takes on this approach. The melody opens up with an acoustic guitar and vocal duo. In addition to that, a classical segment enters with a pleasant cello arrangement. Sven’s work has genuine storytelling aspects, and the music feels like opening a chapter worth latching on to. As a whole “a world we believe in” has a captivating aura where the facets of indie-folk overflow. It brings along a few philosophical themes which are promising to experience, especially from an artistic angle.
The last minute transforms into a funky hurricane, adding drums to the mix, all the while piano and bass guitars form a solid synergy. Sven’s ode is all the magic folk music can bring along. Reaching the exit of this piece, made me feel we were about to end on a soft note. However, Sven had other plans and one last trick up his sleeve.
