Blue Shift by Betageist: Review
Betageist’s song “Blue Shift” is a spiritual electronica track that’ll soothe your soul. The musician’s command of music puts a unique spin on the aforementioned genre, and it’s a joy to witness it all. There’s a calming effect to Kevin Heber’s music, aka Betageist. He instills interesting psychedelic and light ambient tones in the track “Blue Shift.” In addition to that, there’s a lively presence too apart from the meditative essence. So, without further ado, let’s dive into Betageist’s sensational tune.
In just five and a half minutes, Betageist makes us feel things only musical veterans can. The musician employs a rather heavenly sound through reverbed pianos and a wholesome synth arrangement. The two come together to produce a complete sound that feels pretty charming to hear. Aside from that, there’s also a cinematic thrill to “Blue Shift” that is worth mentioning. For instance, if the track were to be included in some kinda Science fiction film or even a video game, the track would align quite nicely. Like, the beat drop almost halfway through in the song will paint a picture of an asteroid colliding with a large star in the galaxy, and so on. Furthermore, the music is a fantastic mix of electronica with some elements of new age here and there.
There’s a key change in “Blue Shift” which was pretty unexpected, yet dramatic. It gave the song plenty of life, especially when some vocals entered the melodic atmosphere.
