Do you love 90s grunge or modern hardcore rock? Into the Light has released their debut EP, Into the Light. One of the best tracks of the EP came up right after as the lead post-release single, “Camera Shy.” We highly recommend listening to “Camera Shy” to get the entire album in a mouthful.
“The Thorns of Life” kicks off the EP with the intensity of driving guitars and ramping drums and the daze of hazy vocals, giving you the crash right ahead.
The lead post-release single, “Camera Shy,” lives up to its name as it bursts forth with pounding drums hitting and bounding hard. A pulse follows it, zooming out to bring an onslaught of gritty, driven guitars. As the guitars riff in a loop, hazy, reverbed, ethereal, and smooth vocals come singing and trailing into the distance in the immersive noise. Over which floods another layer of distorted guitar, and he sings, “She is Camera Shy.” The song rains a downpour of gnarly riffs, sending the blood in your heart pulse back into life.
Coming up, “Manuscript” takes a more subdued approach, with a catchy guitar pattern looped over paced beats.
Closing the EP, “Midyear” offers a melodic, dynamic, and vulnerable vocal experience with emotive instrumentals. The band successfully captures a balance between emotive storytelling and impactful instrumentation.
