Fine Wine by Jodi Heights: Review
Jodi Heights is a unique singer-songwriter thanks to her skill that has been developed through years of classical training. Also, her excellent poetic prowess delves into the depths of everyday life and it is delightful to hear. She has earned a number of degrees in the field of music, the most prestigious of which is a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory. In her powerful pop track “Fine Wine”, Jodi truly stretches her vocal pipes. Along with the striking piano melody, it is a wonderful song to hear and cherish.
The track starts off really slow and smoothes in with a blue-jazz style drum pattern with brushes and a nice bassline to go along with it. Connecting with this atmosphere is the subtle presence of acoustic guitar notes. So, I was enamored by the initiation of the song’s structure! Once, the percussion moves ahead with a higher tempo the entire magnitude of the song is felt. Jodi’s voice on the track is clean and precise. Every word just pops out, and there is a colorful finesse in the songwriting department of “Fine Wine”. I also found it quite insightful and catchy when the specific piano bits mimic the artist’s voice. It has a delicate representation that uplifts the creativity of the track.
At the end of the number, Jodi lets out an incredible roar of emotions. The high notes are hit with elegance and blend perfectly with the energetic tension of each instrument.
