Jacques Bailhé released tuneful new song ‘In The Alley’
Jacques Bailhé is a unique new voice in instrumental music, unleashing fiery passion and entrancing narrative that astounds audiences with its rhythm and melody interwoven with sophisticated harmony and counterpoint. “I’m baffled as to why so many composers seem to have given up on melody. Isn’t it likely the most potent feature of music?” he queries.
What results from years of touring on bass with Big Lost, adding hundreds of tracks for film and commercials, including work with Dolly Parton for her theme park, playing a drum solo behind a fire-breathing stripper in a roller rink in Bangkok, taking sitar lessons in India and Nepal, and reciting prayers as a Buddhist monk?
Grandfather of Jacques Bailhé, George Bailhé, was an accomplished pianist and arranger who worked for Cecil B. Demille in the 1930s. His great-uncle Gaston Bailhé was a talented violinist, and Indiana University now has his score collection. In the 1930s, his father performed on the radio and made an appearance in the film College Days. Opera singer Lisa Nichols Bailhé was his grandmother. His most recent single, ‘In The Alley’, is incredible.
