Alternative-indie band The Lost Messiahs gets nostalgic and grateful as they tribute songwriter Ollie Plunkett’s late mother in their latest poignant and heartfelt single, “Lucky One Remix (Radio Edit).”
Plunkett produced “Lucky One Remix (Radio Edit)” in Golden Egg Studios by himself and got it mixed by the multi-award-winning producer Chris O’Brien and mastered by Frank Arkwright in Abbey Road Studios, London, to get the best of craftsmanship and efforts off this single.
The song begins by riffing out fuzzy guitar melodies amidst momentous thumping drums that drive the song forward. James’O Connor’s deep, thick vocals, delivered with sincerity and a low range, portray the last moments of Plunkett’s mother’s life. He opens the song with the lines, “I was up all last night, precious time with you, you never spoke a word and I didn’t need you to, I saw the light shining around you and I knew,” As the backbeat pounds steadily, carrying our heartbeats throughout the song with hope, Connor’s voice surges in the anthemic chorus, transforming grief into gratitude.
You are likely to find a lot of spirituality, introspection, profundity, and purpose in The Lost Messiahs’ music. If you want to match a vibe to their music, think of The National, War on Drugs, and Mercury Rev.
Listen to the last single, “Lucky One Remix (Radio Edit),” from the last album, Connected to the Real of The Lost Messiahs, to appreciate what and whom you have right now before it’s too late.
