Marvel Age by Auto 250p: Review
Danish rock band Auto 250p kicks off their creative adventure with an explosive rock anthem Marvel Age.
Written by the band’s producer and songwriter Magne Kolstad and Aja Kolstad on the vocals, the song is a commentary on how this generation is expected to act as superheroes and save the world. When asked about the inspiration behind the song the band commented, “there are so many expectations put on the young generations today. We must fix all the problems created by previous gens, and that’s a big burden. Marvel Age is a social comment on that, we almost need to be superheroes to make it. But starting with the small things, what we can, and trying to adapt the tech to fix real problems, we believe we can. After all, we’re marvels!”
A classic rock tune over four-on-the-floor kick drums, this song artfully mixes nostalgic soundscapes with a modern edge. The rhythm of the punk rock-ish vocal lines has such a contagious anthemic flow that you cannot help but pump your fist and sing along. Sonically it is very difficult to confine this song into a particular genre. It has hints of punk in its tone, it has pop, it has rock. But it’s not your run-of-the-mill pop-punk or pop-rock. So it seems Auto 250p might have found their signature sound from the get-go!
Quotable lyrics:
” We’ll make soul food the paradigm
And while we’re at it gonna stop all crime
Build rad houses start to travel in space
Make the universe better in a billion green ways
Its a marvel age
We’re free to be smart
Do everything
We’ve ever dreamed of
We’re the superheroes
The musketeer’oes
The miracle brigade
Of the marvel age
Marvels”
