Monuments, a transatlantic progressive metal band, will release In Stasis, their fourth album, tomorrow (Friday, April 15). The band has released a new music video for “Makeshift Harmony” to commemorate the release.
“Temptation” is defined as “being drawn in by external beauty but inside toxicity.” You know it’s bad for you, but you’re still pulled to it. – “Caught in your current, I mistook a vulture for a swan,” Monuments says of the new song.
Regarding In Stasis, the band adds, “We didn’t approach this record with a specific concept in mind. However, after three songs, the material that was being composed began to share a common topic. This sense of being stuck in the middle, which we have throughout our lives – from friendships to partnerships, from love to hate, from life to death, from belief to non-belief, from power to absolute defeat, from isolation to liberation. Many of these challenges have been endured by us over the last two years, and these hardships can be heard throughout the album. This album is the culmination of our greatest achievements as well as our most difficult challenges. We hope it strikes a chord with you and brings you closer to balance. We’d like to thank special guests Neema Askari (Form Subtract, ex Fellsilent, ex-Monuments), Spencer Sotelo (Periphery, King Mothership), and Mick Gordon (DOOM, Prey, Killer Instinct) for their distinct perspectives on the album.”
