Music and Heart by Marika Christine: Review
“Music and Heart” is a lovely jazz-pop track by musician Marika Christine. Her elegant voice captures our attention, and the accompanying rhythms mix beautifully. The rhythm arrives from a bossa nova-styled drum sequence, smooth piano keys, basslines, and a clean guitar bit. The layers come together quite nicely, and the aura is pretty magical. We are enchanted from the very first minute Marika starts singing, and it excites me every time to hear the track on repeat.
Musical equilibrium only arrives when each aspect of a song is in check. Thus, when the stars align, it’s impossible to dislike a melody. Such is the essence of “Music and Heart,” which has a sensational combination of jazz and pop that makes hearing it all the more worthwhile. Every portion of this soulful track is layered with harmonies that grace our ears and keep us hooked all the while. Marika’s serene vocals are a breeze to hear, and with the addition of instruments, the song’s resonance only grows. Thus, it was such a wonderful experience to absorb and remember. I especially loved how the track ended; the final chord was eargasmic. It is often an underappreciated aspect of composing music—the exit, I mean. But, man, Marika got it right, and that neo-soul-like chord finish was a stellar conclusion to an already amazing track.
Please don’t pass up on “Music and Heart” by Marika Christine! It’s a comforting pop track that’ll keep you company for days to come.
