NIA SULTANA RELEASES MUSIC VIDEO FOR ‘PROVEN’ FEATURING RICK ROSS. On Interscope Records, Nia Sultana, a Brooklyn singer/songwriter, releases her soul-baring first EP Bigger Dreams.
The song “Proven,” which includes Rick Ross and is accompanied by a relaxing, mesmerizing music video, was released ahead of the new album.
Sultana’s already devoted fan base has been able to experience the many sides of her with the release of the EP, which contains otherworldly tracks like “In The Morning” and “Ambience.”
“Proven” is a touching tale about fragile relationships and what happens when one partner works harder than the other. With its low-key snare beat and soaring synth strings, the song washes across the ears like a gentle breeze. Sultana muses, “You’re only interested until someone steps up and I start questioning this situationship and the effort I’ve put in.” Ricky Rozay adds a lyric that paints a lavish vision of the life they may have together.
The video for Sultana is set among natural springs and lush flora, emphasizing the song’s very personal nature. Sultana’s Bigger Dreams EP kicks out with the sensitivity and boldness of “Proven,” which covers the many stages of love: falling in love, falling out of love, and everything in between. The album reflects self-respect from the cheek-blushing ballad “Element” through the self-care hymn “In The Morning” to the uplifting title tune. Sultana, on the other hand, knows when to be vulnerable and let loose, like she did on “Entirely.”
Sultana’s 2019 song “Coconut Water,” a calming music that got accolades from sites like NPR and was featured on YouTube’s popular Escape Tracks platform, originally caught the attention of alternative R&B enthusiasts. She’s a true Brooklyn girl, and her music has a distinct edge, as she explores the beauty in adversity while constructing soothing affirmations with each bar. On Biggers Dreams, Sultana’s powerful blend of Quiet Storm soul and poetic songcraft gives a dose of the healing R&B the world needs right now.
