Nothing Lost by Nothing Lost: Album Review
The latest release “Nothing Lost” is a 28-minute LP, tapping into punk and alternative rock sounds by the 3-piece San Antonio-based alt-punk band Nothing Lost. Filled with nostalgic and eccentric energetic elements of the 90s, they’re bringing back music that feels great to vibe along to!
The album features 12 hitting edge numbers, carefully written and produced in high quality. It starts off with an alt and pop-punk number, Ten Years. The upcoming tracks, Burn and Not Alone features hardcore rock with lyrics that is befitting with the world’s consequences. Ki Ki Ma Ma is a narration of a special memory, while HitThe Ramp kicks out with a percussion rhythm that is blisteringly fast. Its chords go wonderfully with the frantic lyrics and the general agitated attitude of the piece. You can hear dark lyrics within the melodies of Save MacCreedy. Moving along, in Trade it All is a mashup of every element – from the bassline to the vocals – of the preceding titles. Gatekeeper portrays varying rhythms of drum work influenced by Ska. The group also keeps it down-to-earth in their piano-versed track Randall, drawing from personal experiences. It’s followed by the beautiful storytelling of 45 Going on 16. Taking a peculiar turn, Brain Fart is a fun play thanks to its alien-style animated lyric video. Lastly, with an emotional delivery and slow verses, One too Many hits home. One thing that glues the band together is their passion for collaboration. They consider individual bandmates’ influences and merge them into these high-energy, feel-good productions, which is thoroughly evident in their LP “Nothing Lost.”
