The singer is putting her anguish into a new track after exposing Giveon following their separation. Justine calls out her ex-boyfriend for cheating on her in “What a Lie.”
“And it blows my mind,” she sings, “it happened overnight / What a deception I fell for this time.” “What a loser, User / No one will ever know how much I put you on / All they’ll ever know is how you sing a song / But what type of man includes you in his marketing plan?”
Skye slammed the “Heartbreak Anniversary” singer in December, claiming infidelity. Justine said that she discovered he was stalking her after gaining access to his phone and discovering that he was texting other women.
On “What a Lie,” she sings, “Couldn’t believe I got you that night.” “I saw the texts there in front of my eyes / How you never thought to erase them, as if you wanted me to read them.”
Next Friday, Giveon will release his new track “Lie Again,” although it does not appear to be a response to Justine.
She tweeted, “I already know what this weak ass song sounds like anyway.” “It’s not going to be what you think it’ll be.”
