Rumpus Room ft. PHILY, Spiritstik by Dirty Dev: Review
“Rumpus Room” is an old-school rap-style track by Dirty Dev and features their melodic associates PHlLY and Spiritstik. From start to finish, it’s a trippy hip-hop number with a captivating beat and mysterious lyrics. The track is almost like a dream sequence with rap bars and can be categorized along the lines of psychedelic hip-hop.
Flawless lyrical flow is active in Dirty Dev’s piece “Rumpus Room,” which also has an intriguing rhythm section. Consisting of a deep bassline, minimal synths, and the presence of a short trumpet-like segment. Altogether, it creates a resonance that should draw you in and immerse you in the rhythmic essence. As mentioned earlier, the song has an old-school hip-hop tone, and man, is it a nostalgia trip to hear. I believe it’s because of the beat structure, timing, and production quality of “Rumpus Room,” which links back to the past. All in all, it’s sensational, and that’s just my opinion on the old-school theme. Dirty Dev might have had something else in mind, but whatever it was, they knew what they were doing—tight stuff!
Hip-hop has always blended with a variety of genres, and in the recent decade, jazz and LoFi have been the top pick. Thus, it moves my soul to see artists such as Dirty Dev, PHlLY, and Spiritstik employing intriguing mechanics in the song “Rumpus Room.” It was a thrill to hear, and I highly recommend this piece to any avid rap fan.
