Silhouette by Perfectparachutepicture: Review
The smokey punk-rock duo Perfectparachutepicture returns gloriously with their latest emancipating single “Silhouette” after their critically acclaimed “Don’t Bow”. Soaring even higher from a legacy of provocative songwriting and daring arrangements, Perfectparachutepicture imbues integrity, self-discovery, and self-realization with this new release. The track acquires an intoxicating distorted bass riff that reminisces of the current alternative rock scene, raising the adrenaline levels of any hard rock fans or casual listeners alike. The duo’s touch on the percussion is also an interesting take since it enthralls wonderfully in every second of it, stressing their signature alternative sounds.
Quotable lyrics:
“I’m living side by side with a man,
A man that I don’t like,
In a world, all the same
He’s a villain in my own mind,
And he’s ruining everything.”
The duo’s songwriting hits the nail on the head again with a darkly depressing tone in a nihilistic theme, a classic one of the punk-rock theme. The voices in the man’s head, and the silhouettes are so suffocating that he cannot stand it any further – a truly relatable moment of the angsty adolescence. If the listeners are die-hard fans of the classic punk rock music genre but not reluctant to try new materials à la Fall Out Boy, or the original champions Green Day, blink-182, Perfectparachutepicture is definitely a name to seek out.
