Situationship by Kaleigh: Review
In her song “Situationship,” Kaleigh, who is also an actress and a model, gives an energizing vocal performance throughout the whole track. She started writing music when she was 13 and this song is about a relationship that is more than friendship but less than a relationship, a.k.a. a situationship. It’s about the frustrating feeling where you’re in a stalemate with someone you’ve grown to care about but can’t fully commit to and vice versa. As a form of anger therapy, “Situationship” allows us to let out the anguish and resentment that have been building up inside of us.
It starts off with a bang of a guitar riff, bass, and drum rolls, then enters the sensual voice of Kaleigh, whose vocals perfectly suit the track. A bit of a raspy, rough, and smooth vocal with the booming background instrument makes the track stand out. The bass work is fantastic, as is the tight distortion tone work, and the drum work is like explosions on every beat, and, the cherry on top, the charismatic vocal added life to the composition.
Kaleigh has crafted an interesting composition that has elements of punk, rock, and even a hint of metal. Despite the fact that the song is about a relationship that is confusing for both parties, the music is very energizing and powerful and it has the effect of simultaneously calming the anger that you feel while also giving you energy and lifting you up.
