Somber Skies release โMalevolenceโ and announces a new track for June 10th.
Somber Skies, a metalcore duo from Staten Island, will release their sophomore single, Suffering, on June 10th. Ronnie Besser (guitars, vocals, and production) and Brandon Vega make up the two-piece band (guitars). Despite the fact that the two-piece band produces their own music, the execution is faultless, with no evidence of home recordingsโ apprentice marks. The songs are well-produced, well-recorded, mixed, and mastered, and are ready for radio and streaming.
Somber Skiesโ debut album, โMalevolence,โ was a gallant attempt to expose their gruff, yet sophisticated sound, even to the uninformed, with ambient vocals that are occasionally mellifluous, but generally savage, placed atop a dark and spacey foundation.
Their music eloquently speaks for a troubled generation burdened with navigating an increasingly perilous world in which the majority of the battle is waged within the mind. Somber Skies takes a step to express something that is rarely discussed in society but has inspired some of the most visceral works by many renowned artists: anxiety, depression, and suicidal impulses.
โSufferingโ is a much heavier piece with clever timing, an overpowering sense of dread, and continual hostility, depicting the problems most people face on a daily basis. Their debut song, โMalevolence,โ targeted a broader audience, such as individuals who are new to the genre. As the title suggests,โsufferingโ is an expression of these emotions, a reaction to the primal vulnerability within. Fans of the genre will be able to let off steam and understand that they are not alone in their fight against anxiety in an increasingly desensitized and dehumanized world after listening to the tracks; perhaps they will appreciate that compassion and understanding, regardless of the weight of these issues, can lighten the load they carry.
It is recommended that you keep an eye on Somber Skies since they have the potential to inject massive dosages of their powerful medicine, which can treat even the most devilish of aches and soothes the mind, allowing the body to live another day.
