Summer Piano Improv by James Hawken: Review
James Hawken charms his way on his instrument of choice with “Summer Piano Improv”. His playing technique feels like a ballerina performing dramatic movements on the piano keys. Something about each segment of the song makes you feel like taking a brisk walk on a reflective Summer morning, guess I’ll keep that in mind next time I go for a run!
James Hawken born in the villages of Cornwall, shows us his years of expertise come alive in “Summer Piano Improv”. Everything flows so gracefully and without much effort at all when the artist plays the piano. I enjoy how he bounces from chord to chord and adds soft fillers here and there as embellishments for the piece. The track’s tempo wasn’t always constant, and it feels like shifting gears at certain angles. Nevertheless, the manner in which James stayed on a scale and fiddled around with its variations was tremendous indeed. “Summer Piano Improv” might keep the theme of that season in mind, but it can easily romanticize the other times of the year flawlessly. I admire how James carries the entire track with him, with no other instrumental backup. The solo piano piece is an absolute flex and a pleasant one too.
James Hawken’s primary live duo is called the “The James Brothers” and they enjoy covering tunes in various clubs and pubs. They’ve performed for about 40 years (wow) in places across Ireland, Britain, and Europe. James aspires to continue making tracks driven by his passion for piano music, in an effort to help any listener sit back and relax.
