Surrender by Zach Churchill: Review
Zach Churchill is a talented artist based in Los Angeles, his track โSurrenderโ is a stylized indie rock/pop piece, that is full of sentimental melodies. Beginning with a dark and gloomy guitar theme, โSurrenderโ progresses to a deep bass tone and further guitar notes. Zach also has a beautiful and expressive voice. There is genuine spiritual sincerity in his speech. Throughout the song, he allows his voice to expand and faces his own inner power head-on. I really respect this performerโs talent as a singer. I especially enjoy the smooth transitions between the guitar sections, which make the music quite listenable.
The song is an indie rock classic; it strikes the perfect balance between being serious and fun. You really need to listen to the song to get the full effect of its perfect speed and vibe. Itโs a soothing tune, and Iโm confident that once you reach this state of meditation, โSurrenderโ will bless your spirit. I feel I can actually reach the heights Zach has achieved in his field and penetrate the music world with voices as calming as his. The percussion tracksโ simple time signatures complement the guitar and vocals, creating an upbeat, joyful atmosphere.
There are a few piano passages, most notably towards the songโs midpoint, at the beginning of the instrumental interlude. The guitar starts to play, and Zachโs voice softens. I might be mistaken, but the instrument sounds like a baritone electric guitar. Even so, it has a stunning and clean sound. The song fades off gently, as befits the finale of such a magnificent piece of music.
