Listen to Dylan Bressler get viscerally real in his latest rock album, Talk My Ear Off, released on February 22. As the sole instrumentalist and vocalist on the album, Bressler brings his multifaceted talents to the forefront, delivering a collection of dynamic and vibrant tracks that resonate with authenticity.
Drawing inspiration from iconic bands like Blind Melon, Streetlight Manifesto, Alkaline Trio, and Black Sabbath, Bressler infuses his music with the spirit of 70s and 90s rock, creating a nostalgic and refreshingly contemporary sound from a garage studio, engineered by Colton Parrott.
The album kicks off with “Practical Effects,” a powerful opener that enters with steely guitar riffing. Bressler’s vocals soar, releasing all the tension with the music as he sings, “What do I do with all these feelings?” the guitar comes blazing in distortion, coming through with all that pent-up energy of frustrated emotions.
In “Time is a Daffodil,” Bressler immerses us in the haunting nuances of memory and longing with a memento of a watercolor painting given by someone the artist liked. With his soaring vocals singing, “I am used to it,” in anthemic refrains, the bridge poignantly rounds up the narrative.
Amidst the introspection, “In the Trunk of My Car” radiates joy as a beaming beacon of euphoria. The singer sings of spending time with loved ones and finding solace in simple pleasures over upbeat guitars.
Amid the noise, listen to the window that is Talk My Ear Off to peek into the soul of Dylan Bressler. And through each track, get your reflection mirrored to connect with the emotions that define our humanity.
