Here’s a song you can tattoo in your brain, with its easy spacey instrumentals and the melodious voice of AIRBEAR that will just stick with you for a long time. If you need something you can hum to, AIRBEAR’s new single, Tattoo in my Brain, is the pop song you need to hear. However, many of us may want to come back to Tattoo in my Brain for another reason: Heartbreak. This instant pop hit is better suited for the part of the listening audience who has actually gone through a heartbreak. And I guess that’s most of us.
Upon hitting the play button, you will be flushed with a spacey vaporous synth that is enough to set the mood. Right after AIRBEAR starts singing of post-break-up memories as understood by the line in the first verse, “she was looking back at me” and reminiscing of those days as the electric guitar and synth waves play on in the background.
Throughout the song, AIRBEAR tries to fight his feelings with him, then doubling on them, asking if she feels the same and remembers everything they ever did, so he doesn’t need to let go. He concludes with being left with the same thoughts in the chorus. Why? He sings, I can’t help my brain.
In the bridge, the guitar progressives and grinds harder with the bassline as AIRBEAR refutes whatever he felt and tries to move on by not wanting to have another dream again. These complex yet relatable feelings in a feel-good calming pop song like Tattoo in my Brain is what gives it its own flavor.
