The Train Rockers released impressive new song ‘Munich’
What an odd name—The Train Rockers! They became accustomed to that question, which is true. They got their name from an alternative rock band from Munich that began performing in the city’s streets and on subway cars in 2015. Later, they played rock music in pubs, clubs, and even prisons. They were essentially “born” as a band on the streets and in the subway. They obtained that name at the time from a friend. Playing for a few years in public had a unifying effect in that each member represents a wide range of musical and cultural influences.
On the other hand, the street and its inhabitants profoundly shaped their sound and had an impact on the songwriting and lyrics. There, we had a lot of interactions and listened to inspiring but occasionally gruesome tales. They performed everywhere from drug dens in Berlin to Grafton Street in Dublin to the Eiffel Tower’s shadow to prisons in Munich, Bavaria, and Austria. On Their most recent release, ‘THE BLACK SHEEP’ EP, you can hear these tales, settings, and moods. They add some depth, spice, and reality to their blend of Alternative Rock, Pop, Folk, and Country in some unspecified way. The songs are about our own and other people’s experiences, crises and hope, saints and sinners, outsiders and misfits, which is how ‘The Black Sheep’ got its name. Their recent song, ‘Munich’, is also very moving.
