turning into something by Jimmy Knows: Review
Jimmy Knows is a terrific indie band that’ll soothe your senses with clean rhythms. Members Υiannis Vranas, Jason Gavalas, Kimonas Sotiriou, and Yiannis Kanakis all contribute to a serene sound perfectly captured in the track “turning into something.” It’s got a peaceful aura about it, this arises from the cadence of lofi and indie-folk, which keeps the song’s allure fresh and exciting.
I just love minimal music. Songs that don’t have complex chord structures or shredding solos are sometimes needed for a more fulfilling and intentional experience. And this is coming from a metalhead such as myself, a genre I still enjoy returning to. But, I’m nearly 30 now, and my tastes have expanded; minimal indie music such as “turning into something” by Jimmy Knows is the way to go! Even if it has a simple melody, the cadence is effective and excites you to the very core. In it, a chill singer takes the mic, while soulful guitar chords keep it steady. There’s also an intriguing solo near the end, which adds a touch of magic to the mix. Aside from these facets, Jimmy Knows did a stellar job as a band to enchant us with their atmospheric sound.
Apart from the guitar, the keys and basslines of “turning into something” also play a key role. The tone has a calming effect and adds to the features of lofi as mentioned earlier. Overall, it’s a top-notch tune in my book, so be sure to check it out.
