American indie-pop duo Queen Anne strut into the spotlight, with “Watch Me Win.” The singer-songwriter Katie Silverman and writer/producer Sandy Chila bring a track that feels like a confidence boost in song form. Silverman, already familiar to many from her roles in New Girl, PEN15, and The Exorcists, brings that same sharp, expressive presence to the mic, turning everyday irritation and self-doubt into something triumphant and cinematic.
From the jump, “Watch Me Win It” is all motion: bustling drums push the song forward while melodic guitars weave around them, giving everything a restless, city-at-night feel. Over that, Silverman sings with an easy, almost smug cool. She flips the phrase about life not being a game and casually replies that she’ll win anyway, making it hit like a perfectly timed comeback you wish you’d thought of first.
The track is packed with little character-defining asides, too. A tossed-off line about fake nails and a very real heart turns into a whole thesis on artifice and authenticity in a split second—she’s fully in on the joke, but the emotion underneath isn’t a bit. Then the chorus swings the door wide open: she leans into making a little mess, having fun, maybe driving a bit too fast, because the night is young and she’s done apologizing for wanting more.
By the time she insists they’re not stopping just because the sun comes up, “Watch Me Win It” has become a permission slip to be unapologetically alive. Darkly ethereal yet annoyingly catchy, it makes a strong case that Queen Anne aren’t just playing the game—they’re here to change the rules.
