Wild and Untamed by Millstöne is a barrelling, gruelling piece to throw your inhibitions out the window as you battle your desire for everything that’s wrong. From the first smug churn of the guitar, you know you’re in for a ride that’s gritty, loud, and unapologetically soaked in sex, sweat, and swagger. The track barrels forward with a thundering beat and a singer who sounds like he’s been possessed by the ghosts of a hundred sleazy motel rooms and the devil-may-care snarl of rock legends past.
His voice is thick and boozy, dragging out each line like a cigarette pull, teasing and taunting with hunger just barely restrained. The dangerous tension in his delivery comes out lust-drunk and reckless. As the guitars grind and screech around him with wild abandon, there’s a point towards the end where his voice cracks into falsetto—impatient, desperate, on the edge of losing control as he needs more.
Wild and Untamed is straight from the gospel of late-night mistakes and no-regret mornings. It’s a love letter to temptation in its most chaotic form—an ode to the kind of woman who’s bad for you and the exact reason you can’t stop looking. He sings, “She’s a shot of whiskey, running through my veins,” illustrating his full-body experience, right down to the candy-coated danger and fire-touch thrills.
