With Love by Tia McGraff: Review
Hold on, why has nobody told me that we have our own generation’s Kate Bush? Although her music isn’t in the exact same era or beat, there’s a vocal resemblance that I can’t seem to let go of!
Stumbling upon Tia McGraff’s latest single ‘With love’ sent florals through my imagination, making me think of spring or a journey to rediscovering myself with love. The song explores how recollection and reverence for people we have lost carry us ahead, love makes us better, and gratitude for these connections. McGraff’s pure and mature attitude makes this music uplifting and appealing. It has blessed my ears, and right now I’m writing a note to the upcoming generation to keep Tia McGraff’s music alive for generations to come. It would be an understatement to say her country-esque music, with gentle plucking, and lovely voice is simply the best combination. Her mezzo-soprano fills the room with exquisite overtones and vibrato using a banjo pedal tone, an expressive guitar melody, and a deep-rooted funk beat. The only thing there is to complain about “With love” is that it only lasts 3 minutes and 28 seconds – it ain’t enough! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve come across music that genuinely carries inspiration, an instant flow of good feelings, and feeling fuller than before; like a flower in its finest bloom on a spring afternoon smiling at you.
