Are you a fan of personal songs? Tracks that speak loudly and sing expressively about the artist’s reflection? Then enjoy this treat presented by the Australian up-and-coming artist Blake Cateris titled “Days, Weeks, Months & Years”. It’s an indie-acoustic tune that is sweet, melancholic, and equally fantastic. His emotional and passionate singing will vibrate throughout any atmosphere he sings in, and indeed the composed track is a beautiful one.
I love simple chord-driven songs. They’re easy to hear, and just a joy to vibe with. In his track, Blake plays a subtle guitar arrangement, and it blends perfectly with the piano and fading electric guitar sequences. What I value about “Days, Weeks, Months & Years” is its ability to tell a musical story that doesn’t necessarily need percussion but has a similar sentiment without it. The feeling is powerful and I believe Blake’s melody will resonate with anyone. The transitions are incredible, and it reminds me of the early days of acoustic punk rock and alternative numbers. Blake’s fierce yet soft strumming on the guitar mixes really well with his singing range. He screams, he sings plainly, and he’s a rounded musician indeed.
‘Days, Weeks, Months, and Years’ is about being out of sync with oneself, as stated by Blake. Feeling like you’re missing out on many more essential things in life while you sit back and watch the world go by. It’s a truly mesmerizing song that anyone can relate to.
