In a world with an abundance of music, Iβm glad I came across the enchanting βLullabyβ by Catonti. The song starts of with with a smooth Neo soul riff accompanied by guitar, and the bass playing lightly in the background. The drum sequence is very laid back and reminds you of a chilled out jazz session at a low-key bar. I truly enjoyed the bass parts the most.
In the middle of the song the band enters a very energetic stance that will completely blow your brains away, itβs a fantastic melody for getting lost into. There is such an innate resonance with the music of Catonti, that feels so refreshing to hear. The band manages to pull you in on their instrumental storytelling, once youβre in, youβre bound to get hooked on their sound. There should be structures in the instrumental genre just like Catonti uses that focus on the musicβs vibe more, than how adept an instrumentalist is at their craft. Not that anythingβs wrong with being highly skilled, but sometimes the minimalist tone of Catonti works exceptionally well too. This is arguably what made The Beatles great. There is no doubt they were exceptionally skilled, but they did not feel the need to βshow offβ in every track theyβve ever made. As some people say, itβs about the feel, not the skill.
The bandβs journey started in Jerusalem upon meeting each other. Their current albumβs a concept album about maturity and development from the perspective of a young person.
