‘being foes’ IS THE LATEST SINGLE FROM OLUWAJESSE.
Oluwajesse, who hails from Colchester, England, has returned with his fifth song, “being foes,” which will be released on June 3rd. This current track exemplifies Oluwajesse’s previous success in the emo/melodic hip-hop genre. Sweet strings, played by himself, provide a relaxing atmosphere to the music, which is complemented with a powerful beat and 808s to give it a full sound.
Oluwajesse is known for including a love element in his songs, and this new song is about a prior relationship. Oluwajesse delves on the difficulties and acceptance that come with ending a relationship. He discusses accepting the truth that he was “never intended for you,” alluding to his prior lover. He also wonders how he and his ex-girlfriend went from “being so close, to becoming rivals,” as the song’s popular refrain goes.
Because there were so many obstacles in making “being foes,” Oluwajesse’s computer crashed, erasing all of the song’s data. But, amazingly, he had a backup of the song on his iCloud account.
“It is only right this song comes out, as it has survived through all the turmoil. It was meant to be shared with the world.”
