Goesting by Ruud Voesten: Review
“Goesting” is a progressive jazz piece that will thrill your soul. From smooth saxophone sections to deep basslines, this evocative track is one to remember, as directed by veteran jazz artist “Ruud Voesten.” So, prepare yourselves for over seven minutes of melodic ecstasy, dripped in cadence, and delivered in a sonic package only the human soul can absorb graciously.
Ruud Voesten’s music is all about flow. When you hear their music, it’s pretty easy to lose your connection with the real world and feel lost with the rhythm. Overflowing with magical timbres, “Goesting” starts with an intriguing cello portion that’s equally dark and moving. The instrument’s weight is felt, and a gentle piano tags along to intensify the cello’s resonance. Eventually, when the drums make an entrance, the piece transforms into this dance of jazz, and we’ve got front-row seats witnessing the magic happen. Apart from that, the time signatures were just perfect. Not too overwhelming, not too many changes, but just enough for beginners to enjoy the cadence and even long-time followers of jazz.
I love a good jazz song every now and then, which makes me realize the extent of musical instruments. ‘Cause musicians who dive into the genre, utilize the piano, or the sax, even the guitar to an extent you never thought was possible. Thus, this intrigue only doubled after hearing Ruud Voesten’s impressive piece “Goesting.”
