Bear, an inspiring 63-year-old songwriter and kidney transplant survivor, channels hope and urgency into his new single, “No Place Like Home,” as he channels the voice of the planet. Released on October 4th, 2025, the alternative rock track was born in the heart of Scotland’s Galloway Forest, where Bear first sang its bones into his phone among the whispering pines. It is a stirring environmental anthem recorded at TMP Studios in Wigan with John Kettle of Merry Hell, whose production lends the track a cinematic power reminiscent of U2 and Of Monsters and Men. The song unfurls like a journey through both nature and conscience, reminding us that while greed may threaten our home, the will to protect it still burns bright.
It kicks off with strumming acoustic guitars and a laid-back, nostalgic rhythm, like the calm before the storm. Bear’s voice enters strong and steady, with a gravelly warmth that speaks of experience and conviction. As the verses progress, the melody thickens and drums bustle to build momentum for the message. The chorus of “No Place Like Home” erupts passionately as his voice soars with raw emo, echoing the heartbeat of the earth he’s fighting for. The reflective middle section softens things momentarily, with ghostly guitar undertones evoking images of trees being felled and nature fading away.
Bear testifies as he weighs on his own survival against the rising fire of purpose, which connects to his reflection that our ecosystem too deserve to be preserved. “No Place Like Home” reminds that the earth’s song is still playing, and it’s ours to protect before the final note fades.
