Puerto Rican Singer, songwriter, and model JUIC3 has released her heartbreaking single, “The One.”
The song, upon hitting start, sprinkles gold dust on you as if transporting you to her story. Or better yet, it might symbolize the illusory concept of believing in “the one” for you. Either way, it’s an intriguing start and it precedes some really good beats that keep you up with the rhythm effortlessly. The string arrangement is really well-integrated as it pops out the agony behind the context.
JUIC3’s juicy, high voice surely goes with the aesthetic, as she sultrily sings with a calm but vulnerable demeanor. Her vocals are given a layered effect, and it really helps because it musically emphasize the despondent bewilderment. On the other hand, her lyrics are diaristic; it’s like she’s confused so she is retrospectively reflecting everything that led to this emotional turmoil.
JUIC3 gives us the first-row seats to all the thoughts merging during heartbreaks. There’s pretty much everything from betrayal to forgotten promises and lingering questions, and of course lack of closure and so on. Shattered and disillusioned, she sings, “Now how can I go on, when all I wanted was a shoulder to lean on?”
You know this is the song for you if you are going through a heartbreak, mostly because it was written from first-hand experiences of heartbreak most possibly and it explores the first and most painful stages of heartbreak really well. Although this song might have been written about heartbreaks, you can bet it can also be of some benefit during other sorts of relationships.
