Vignettes For A Sad Life by Language Games: EP Review
Isn’t it so special when people from different corners of life can connect to a piece of music but with their own interpretation? Language Games brings out a brand new EP, and their first, called “Vignettes For A Sad Life” in an attempt to remain significant to their listeners on a personal level.
The album is like a missing puzzle piece that’ll just fit right in to your scenario, but in the form of a melodic journey. It is emotionally and narratively so distinctive that there’s something for everyone! From the conflicts of relationships, to finding love, going through depression and crisis of identity – this album addresses everything. Multi-instrumentalist Kurt Gottwald, the guy behind this indie rock solo project, uses analogies, narrative, and free-form composition throughout the record. In doing so, he encourages his audience to see parallels between the music and their own lives.
“Vignettes For A Sad Life” is a flawless album for the indie fans who appreciate genres such as rock, reggae and more. It’s a piece of art in every sense of the word; the words, the singing, the melodies—everything about it is phenomenal. I recommend this album to everyone who wants to add something new to their playlist this week!
