When The Night Comes by French Mothers: Review
The delightful English band French Mothers have been making waves over the past year and their “When The Night Comes” EP, which features five songs, is the perfect thing to put on, relax, and enjoy.
They aren’t hesitant to push the boundaries of their sound, but they also find their niche in writing that is deeply felt and universally applicable, with a firm footing in the present. What strikes us most about French Mothers is how quickly they take hold of us, dislodging our thoughts and replacing them with the wave of their EP. When compared to their 2016 first album, The Old Hotel, “When the Night Comes” is unquestionably an improvement. The most recent release has a pulsating sound and consists of a kaleidoscopic, emotive indie composition that strikes a fine mix between shoegaze, soft rock, and pop sensibilities. Beautiful and memorable melodies, top-notch production, and flawless execution demonstrate great finesse.
The songs are improved by the use of catchy melodies and riffs, some melancholic, some energizing that surpass expectations. The latest project from French Mothers is a lovely surprise, the sort that can transform any gloomy day into a sunny side up, and we won’t shy away from asking you to take a few minutes of your day to dig into it since there’s no compromise in the how this is packaged, produced and delivered in top-notch quality.
