In his new single “Don’t Love Me,” Ne-Yo confronts reality. The song comes after singles like “Stay Down.”
The famous Ne-Yo has a new track out today (May 13) called “Don’t Love Me.” The R&B veteran continues his lengthy tradition of writing songs about love. Ne-Yo confronts the truth of his relationship on the new tune, urging his girlfriend to find someone more deserving of her affection:
And I really wanna see you happy, I really wanna see you secure/ I know you don’t feel that with me anymore/ You should walk away, it’d be selfish of me to ask you to stay when I know I can no longer love you the way you deserve/ I can’t sit and watch you make these same mistakes
Please oh please, don’t love me, walk away, you’ll be better for it/ I can’t be your happy, walk away you’ll be better for it girl/ I’m only gonna hurt you, you’ll be better for it girl/ Find someone that deserves you, baby
Ne-Yo commemorated the 15th anniversary of his debut album In My Own Words by releasing a deluxe edition of the collection a few months ago. In September, he released his singles “What If” and “Stay Down,” which featured Yung Bleu.
Two live acoustic performances of the popular singles “So Sick” and “Sexy Love,” and two instrumentals (“So Sick” and “When You’re Mad”) were included on In My Own Words (Deluxe). Prior to that, Ne-Yo released his track “U 2 Luv,” which was quickly followed by a remix featuring Lil Durk and Queen Naija. His latest collection of work, Another Kind of Christmas, was launched in 2019, and it spread some early holiday pleasure.
