Oups by The Other Colors: Review
“Oups” by The Other Colors is unlike anything you have ever heard before! The French song creates a visionary of colors, regardless of its language barrier, with an effort to fuse synth waves, experimental edge and electronic components. Expressed through dashing electronic pop, there is something in its notes that is heart-piercing and soul-reaching that makes its listeners want to explore deeper into the abyss, where the light has never been seen before. Aligned with the effect it intends to create, there is a consistent explosion of dark edge, an unusual sound, over a lyrical rhythm and the occasional off-kilter beat that adds to its eerie vibe.
What makes the flow even more remarkable in this sonic experience is Marie Möör’s French vocals, reaching out to you, tapping on the shoulder with an avant-garde and mysterious flair. Although in French, which creates a delay in grasping the meaning of the entire piece, the performance’s emotional flow transcends the barrier within the listener to reach out their hand and find the magic that lies beyond. The delivery conveys a descent into the depths with glimmering notes of bright future bass and pop synth wave while the eerie quality of the tune is further emphasized by the higher tones that play in the background.
There’s no doubt that comes to mind about the electricity that this band sparks with their new EDM influenced and drum-heavy release “Oups”. And now it is your time to give into the experience!
