Strawberry Head by Dominic Rodio: Review
“Strawberry Head” is Dominic’s third release, exuding a 90s rock vibe, making it an easy listen for any rock fan! If you’re anywhere between pop punk and full-blown rock, this track will have you by the edge of your seat with its incredible shifts of rhythm and tone!
Starting off powerful and furious, the vocals over bass tone it down before the twangy, colorful guitar play and paddle percussion come in. As the vocals enter after an explosive introduction, Dominic Rodio swiftly shifts to a slower, more peaceful verse, giving us very captivating lyrics addressing all about adolescent craziness, making it wild and baffling. As the guitar riffs smash through with amazing intensity in certain portions, it really drives home the whole vibe with fearless precision. By carefully considering details like the song’s instrumentation, structure, and production—including, for example, the use of backup vocals to complement the chorus and specific guitar passages—Dominic Rodio creates a song that sounds like Blink-182 or Green Day, with a more seasoned and well-rounded sound for the 90s rock era fans.
With one final remark, I’m going to close this off: Dominic Rodio is a talented individual, who climbed up that mountain, gave us something monumental, and produced something enormous, full of nostalgia but with a lovely contemporary touch that ticks all the boxes when it comes to pop punk!
