The Moods That Follow by S J Denney: EP Review

S J Denney has released a new EP called “The Moods That Follow” filled with the most memorable progression of tracks. With the magic of his soothing voice, this collection features well-produced music that is both tranquil and bold at the same time.
The EP starts off with “The Art of the Possible” with romantic guitar waves, illuminating bass, and gentle percussion where the vocals construct a beautiful picture – it’s like watching a meadow full of yellow flora, brushed softly by the wind, from the distance. “A Silent Scream” is just as beautiful, and because of the way the positive feelings build upon one another with the woodsy whistles, you can’t help but feel better after hearing it. At a steady pace, the guitar and bass just work together, creating a glowing atmosphere. ‘I Don’t Know if This Changes Things?’ is full of harmonies, where Denney out-performs himself in a chanting chorus, enhanced by bass and piano. My favorite one might just be “In the Dying Light” for its eastern tones, table, and textures. The singer remains magnificent as usual, merging his melodies to that of the backdrop of this track, with a glowing effect and a hint of contemporary.
You will find your spirits uplifted, your heart unveiling itself with grace as the background fills with the delicate sounds of “The Moods That Follow”. It is warm and utterly delightful until the end!
