Wasted Melodies by Tom Tippin: EP Review
Within the space of indie and country, the heart and soul of artist Tom Tippin makes music memorable again with his EP “Wasted Melodies”. If you’ve got a taste for harmonies that makes life feel like a movie, and every scene fills infinite, then this EP is right up your alley.
We start our journey within the melodic marvel of 33 RPM. Energy and tonality all ooze with a heightened sense as the delay-infused guitar arrangements bless the track. There’s a touch of romance and gravity the singer possesses which manages to grip you into each track’s attraction. Moving forward with Tom’s naturally grooving melodies was a pleasant experience. In “Chance to Love You” a melodic spark depicts when two eyes meet and give in to the temptation of a first encounter. The fast tempo of the song through beautiful guitar-driven sequences and a stellar drumming accompaniment makes the track truly shine. Human nature, love, pain, and the self, I admire how all these factors close to our hearts are transferred into song through Tom’s melodies. The extent of it is truly felt in “Who Am I?”, where the track’s ending solo sends waves across your chest and seeks out a warm corner to shelter you.
“Wasted Melodies” is a polished EP that has a ton of passion written all over it. Through a wonderful expression of the heart and truly colorful instrumentation, we witness the greatness of Tom Tippin.
